Camps at Power4Teens are based around having fun, getting outside, being active, being creative, trying new things while becoming empowered and gaining the tools to develop self understanding and self worth. They are set in a fun, friendly intimate environment where we promote authenticity, individuality and acceptance. We teach kids how to integrate with the world around them in a confident and positive manner. They will be exposed to many different activities and life lessons, but most of all they will laugh and be exhausted by the end of the day with beaming smiles - we are often told this is the best camp EVER from our campers. All our camps include:
Some of our talks include:
The Tween day camp & Teen camps run separately out of the same location (we split by ages, so don't worry, reluctant teens will realize this camp is cool). The Tween & Teen programs are based around similar concepts but vary based on the age of the audience with more emphasis on leadership and creating and presenting ideas for teen groups. Tweens are generally 8-12 (grouped age 8-10 and 10-12). Teens generally are 13-16, we move kids into appropriate groups depending on the sign ups of the week.
The week ends on Friday with a pizza party and fun confidence walks (where we incorporate all the lessons of camp. We create a relaxed carefree environment where we can randomly break into freestyle dancing or run around a field screaming wildly their favourite songs. Basically, we have it all, and we know it, because this is what they asked for and we deliver, and when the requests change, so do we.
Week 5 - Leader in Training (LIT) Camp (13-16yrs):
Our 13+ girls will learn how to discover their potential, build transferable skills and discover strategies to become a leader in the present and for the future. This will be a combo program with leadership components plus of course a ton of fun activities because it's summer... and it's fun!
Our talks will include:
Fun activities will include:
*WEEK 5 CAMP ONLY* Campers will receive a Power4Teens Leader in Training (LIT) certificate and the opportunity to apply for a position as a volunteer for future Summer Camps with P4T
WEEK 4 JULY 22-26: TWEEN ONLY OVERNIGHT CAMP - (10-13yrs)
Location - Kawartha Lakes
This is NOT your normal fun overnight camp - it is so much more. The Power4Teens overnight experience combines the great outdoors, swimming, SUP'ing, campfire songs with a more intimate environment where positivity, empowerment and self understanding is developed.
The focus is on summer activities, enjoyment and freedom where girls also learn real life skills, leadership, group dynamics & compassion for themselves and others. It develops everything the school system forgets and that the culture of today misses - including mindfulness, real connection, acceptance and getting away from technology and social media. We relish in the freedom of Summer while learning what really matters in life and it's fun. Parents (and kids) often say it's been life changing.
We run it like a family, come alone, come with a friend, it doesn't matter because we all become one. Travelling in our small buses with music pumping and getting out and exploring the area we feel more free and independent but still very well cared for. So much more exciting than being stuck on a camp with a thousand people you won't ever know! We refuse to get bigger no matter what the demand for our camps are! We remain authentic and true to our goals.
Our property is one big beautiful cottage with private sandy beach access to quiet waters. There is a swim dock and safe waters for paddle boarding and exploring. We have workshops, games and activities held outside on the grass or inside in the living area. Our camp cottage has 7 bedrooms (some rooms have several beds, including bunk beds), 3.5 bathrooms, private waterfront, field for activities and sports, outdoor volleyball court AND a plenty of space indoors for slumber parties and KARAOKE night!!!!
Great healthy food is prepared and cooked in the cottage by staff and tweens. There are plenty of rooms all with double occupancy, with the possibility of sleeping in single or double rooms. Girls can choose rooming options or we help them decide when we get there (based on information given on registration form).
The P4T difference is due to the size of the camp, the quality of the instructors and the philosophy behind the camp. This year, we taking a maximum of 12 tween girls with 4 leaders.

Why we have our policy in place:
The reason for our policy is that most bookings and planning for all programs (especially overnight camp) are made prior to March, so when our camps become full, we turn clients away, making it challenging to then fill the remaining spots. Please do keep in mind, we are a small community business promoting empowerment of our youth. We do it for love not the money, however, still need to survive.
